Angels Childcare Policies and Procedures

I respect and appreciate the trust you have placed in Angel’s Childcare to care for your child. What we have to offer your family is much more that babysitting service, but a loving, safe, and educational environment for your child to grow. We will offer the very best care for your child.  You can help me by keeping me informed regarding any health concerns, allergies, special interests, or fears of your child. We will share information about your child’s growth and activities during their time spent at our facility.

It is our goal to offer your family the quality childcare experience you deserve. Please feel free to openly discuss any problems or concerns at any time. Open communication is the key in development of your child.

Please take the time to read these policies thoroughly as it is important you are aware of them. Again, thank you for considering Angel’s Childcare & Academy. We look forward to providing your family with the best possible care for your child.

Early Closing

Parents will be notified in advance of early closing so you will be able to make arrangement for your child.

Open Door Policy

I maintain an open door policy. Parents are welcome to visit the center at anytime during business hours. You are welcome to observe our program as long as you wish. Please understand teachers may not be able to give you their undivided attention as they are interacting with your children.

Signing In & Out

I provide a sign in and out sheet so please remember to sign your child in and out daily.

Arrivals and Departures

The center opens at 6:00 a.m. occasionally you may wish to send someone other than yourself to drop off or pick up your child for the day. Be sure to notify any person doing so of the drop off/pick time procedure. Always notify the director should there be someone other than you dropping off or picking up for the day. Any person taking your place for drop-off/pick-up times should be listed on the authorization from you is required. I will not release the child without you approval for protection of you child and myself.

Meals

Well-balanced breakfast, snacks and lunches will be provided. Children will be encouraged to finish meals but will not be forced to eat. If your child will be arriving after the specified mealtime please be sure to provide the meal before the child arrives. This helps our day run smoothly. Meal times will be as follows:

                                                Breakfast          6:00- 8:00

                                                Lunch               11:30

                                                Snack               2.15

Dress for Play

All children must arrive dressed and ready for the day. When dressing your child, please keep in mind that we do many messy activities such as painting, playing outdoors, and use many “messy” items. Please do not dress your child in clothes that you would not like soiled.

In warmer weather, we frequent the outdoors more often. Please refrain from dressing your child in sandals, as they tend to hinder their running abilities and fail to protect them from fire ants.

Nap time/Quiet Time

All children under the age of five are required by state law to have a rest period while at daycare. Our rest period is from 12:30 to 2:30. To avoid disturbing the children who are napping, please try not schedule pick-ups at this time. If you must pick up you child at these time please notify director in advance.

Illness/Medical Emergencies

Children will be visually screened as they arrive. Children will be isolated in the event they are ill. If the child exhibits any of the following symptoms, they need to be picked up.

Fever of 101 degrees or higher

            Communicable disease

            Diarrhea

            Vomiting

            Draining rash

            Eye discharge or pinkeye

            Lice/nits

Your child will be able to return when he or she is free from medication and symptoms for 24 hours or with a doctor’s authorization to return. In the event that your child is sick I will make several attempts to contact you after several unsuccessful attempts I will call emergency contacts. If your child is injured in a non-threatening manner after child is assessed, first aid will be administered. If the injury is more serious the parent will be notified so the child will be transported to the hospital.

Emergencies:

Fire: There are fire extinguishers located throughout the center. In the event there is a fire, the children will be evacuated immediately. The evacuation plan is posted in the center and you are free to view it at any time. We will practice fire drills periodically so the children will be prepared in the event of a fire.

Tornado: In the event of a tornado warning, the children will follow tornado procedures. Tornado drills will also practiced periodically.

Power Outage: There are flashlights located throughout the facility. If the power remains out for some time and the weather is inclement you will be called to pick up your children.
